Hi All, with Christmas time nearly upon us and as the moonsoonal rain sets in across the top end here's my final report on what's been happening over the last few weeks on the water here in Darwin. With the build up and the storms the Barramundi have been active in the feeder creeks and we've had some good sessons on the Queenfish and Trevally's in the open harbour.
Monday the 24th of October I had Jim Butler and Jason Mills from Sydney out for a half day stint seeing the boys get 2 Trevally a piece on the soft plastics gear.
Tuesday 25th of October and it was Glen Tickner and Bradley Anderson for a half day session with Bradley nabbing a Wolf Herring, 1 Blue Threadfin Salmon, 6 Trevally, 1 Queenfish, 2 Javelin and 3 Cod. Glen bagged 3 Cod, 1 Javelin, 2 Queenfish, 4 Trevally and a Golden Snapper for the session.
Friday 4th of November I had Duncan Challer from Sydney, Pat Lennon from Ashford, NSW and Jake Lennon from here in Darwin. Jake landed a nice Tarpon while Pat nabbed 1 Javelin and a Cod and Duncan caught just the 1 Cod.
Saturday Nov 5th and it was a crew consisting of Max Patton from the Hunter Valley, NSW along with Brendan Crouch from Bendigo, VIC. Max nabbed 3 Queenfish and 2 Trevally while Brendan bagged 3 Queenfish, 3 Silver Trevally, 2 Golden Trevally and a Moses Perch.
Tuesday the 8th of November I had Johanna Noble and her two sons Cooper and Billy out with me for a half day stint. Jo caught 1 Tuskfish, 3 Trevally and a Queenfish while Cooper nabbed a nice Tarpon, 1 Golden Trevally, 2 Queenfish and 4 Silver Trevally. Billy nabbed 9 Trevally, 3 Cod, 2 Tuskfish and a Cobia for good measure.
Wednesday the 9th it was Dean and Doris Carson along with Brett Jones with Dean getting 2 Cod, 1 very pretty Diamond Trevally, 2 Silver Trevally and a Tuskfish. Doris bagged 1 Golden Snapper and a Tuskfish while Brett nabbed 2 Trevally.
Tuesday the 15th and I had Chris Mills from the UK and Kenno Ferguson from the Hunter Valley, NSW with Chris nabbing 3 Barramundi, 1 Queenfish, 1 Blue threadfin Salmon and 2 Javelin. Kenno caught 3 Cod, 1 Javelin, 1 Trevally and a Queenfish.
Friday 18th of November it was Aaron and Richard Westbrook out with me where Richard bagged 1 Flathead, 1 Javelin, 3 Trevally, 1 Catfish and a Barra while Aaron caught just the 1 Barramundi.
Saturday the 19th in the morning I had Maurice Ramsey and Greg Buckles with Maurice getting a Longtom, Mackerel, 6 Trevally and 8 Queenfish, Maurice caught 10 Queenfish and 6 Trevally. In the afternoon I was back out with David and Jim Thorogod seeing David get 2 Trevally and a Golden Snapper and Jim nab 4 Trevally and 2 Golden Snapper.
Wednesday 23rd I did a full day stint with Damien Darcy where he nabbed 1 Golden Trevally, 15 Silver Trevally, 2 Queenfish, 2 Golden Snapper, 2 Moses Perch and 2 Cod for the day.
Monday 28th I did a half day session with Edward Ridings from Brisbane concentrating on the Barra seeing Edward rewarded with a 65cm Barramundi.
Sunday December 4th I had Chris Martin, Shane Smalley and Jason Sanders out for a full day with the tally comin in at Chris nabbing 1 King Threadfin Salmon, 1 Javelin, 2 Golden Snapper, 8 Trevally, 6 Queenfish and a Cod. Shane bagged 1 Barramundi, 1 Flathead, 5 Trevally and a Golden Snapper. Jason nabbed 4 Cod, 7 Trevally, 6 Queenfish, 12 Golden Snapper and a Javelin.
Wednesday the 7th I had Elaine Hauraki from NZ and Kimmo Aho from Sweden out with me for a half day session with Elaine getting 15 Trevally and 2 Queenfish and Kimmo nabbing 18 Trevally, 4 Queenfish and a Longtom.
The next Thursday it was Ben and Lou-Anne Pickering from Newcastle, NSW joined by Stuart Lennox from Hobart, TAS with Ben bagging 6 Trevally, 2 Queenfish, 1 Batfish and a Moses Perch. Lou-Anne nabbed 4 Trevally, 1 Queenfish and a Cod and Stuart caught 5 Trevally, 2 Queenfish and 2 Cod.
Friday 9th I had Mark Unger and Michael Rose from the USA out with me with Mark getting s Blue Threadfin Salmon, 4 Trevally, 1 Javelin and a Cod while Michael nabbed a Tarpon, Javelin and 4 Trevally.
Monday 12th of December I had Justin Scerri and Mika Tozato from sydney out with me where Mika nabbed a nice Queenfish while Justin bagged a Mangrove Jack, Flathead, Catfish, Trevally and a Javelin.
Thursday the 15th I did a full day one on one with Bernardo Obando from here in Darwin where he nabbed a nice Mangrove Jack, 2 Barramundi, 1 Nightfish, 1 Trevally, a Flathead, Cod and a Queenfish.
Well that's about it for the end of the 2016 season as I blog this down the rains are coming in and I wrap things up at the end of the month for annual leave to escape the wet and will be kicking the 2017 season off in late February weather permitting.
